Food Packaging Sustainability

Integrating Full-Circle Sustainability Into Eco-Conscious Packaging.

At ICPG, we consider the full life cycle of your snack or food product – from the moment of conceptualization to the impact it has on our collective carbon footprint. Eco-friendly and environmentally-conscious, sustainable, and ethical food packaging practices, aren’t just an ambition of ours, they’re embedded in our everyday operating procedures and manufacturing processes.

Packaging Designed With Sustainability In Mind

  • Efficiently Allocating Resources

Our diverse materials portfolio is designed to maximize usage, promote energy savings and support down-gauging and light-weighting initiatives for a lighter carbon footprint throughout the product life cycle.

  • Recycling In Practice

It’s not enough for a material to be recyclable in concept, it must also be recyclable in practice. Market opportunities for recyclable materials must be viable for recyclability to be feasible. We constantly work with you directly to consider which materials and colors can be recycled and reused in further product applications.

  • Cultivating a Circular Economy

Complete the product lifecycle and incorporate PCR materials where possible, choosing material structures that allow recycling under mono-material Resin ID Codes vs RIC #7.

Sustainable Materials

ICPG’s multi-layer line and material handling systems accommodate clean, post-industrial regrind and the incorporation of PCR materials to reduce virgin material usage and the environmental footprint of the finished part. Our vast portfolio allows for structure design using more sustainable, eco-friendly materials and additives, using polymer-specific recycling attributes without sacrificing barrier performance or functionality.

Sustainable Partnerships

ICPG is dedicated to integrating alternative energy sources to power our every-day operations and efficiently transport our materials, offsetting the consumption of traditional sources like electricity, natural gas and fuel. Our solar energy system in Putnam, CT supplements on-site electric requirements with clean renewable energy, producing the energy equivalent of over 60,500 gallons of gas to date!
